My Students

My project is for my class coming in August 2018 so I haven't met them yet, but I can't wait. If they are anything like last year's class, they will be wonderful! Third graders are sweet but independent. They love learning, and they love their teacher! They "get" your sense of humor which is always a plus. They want to please and have a curiosity that makes them so teachable! I love my third graders!

It is so fun to watch them grow and mature from the beginning of the year until the end.

Even after they leave my class, I will always consider them "my kids," and they leave me knowing they can come back and talk to me any time.

My Project

Storyworks, Jr. is a wonderful multi-genre magazine put out by Scholastic that incorporates fiction, non-fiction, drama, and poetry in each issue.

It is an excellent source to get my students excited about reading.

The articles draw them in because of their high-interest and readability. Storywork, Jr. is also a wonderful resource for practice for the high stakes ELA testing we require of third graders in Florida.

Students who may be intimidated by chapter books find Storyworks, Jr. more manageable to read. I am convinced this periodical will heighten their interest in reading and foster a love that will continue throughout their educational lifetime.
