My students with special needs are my family! We live in a small town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where many students receive free/reduced lunches and weekend backpacks filled with food.
In our classroom, we are all connected and we choose to be kind!
As a class of many diverse and special needs, we work hard on our literacy, math, science and social studies skills. We help each other and we look forward to what the future holds for us!
My students in my Special Education ELA class struggle with reading and writing. These students are generally at least 3 grade levels behind their same-age peers.
Storyworks Jr magazines will provide my students with leveled articles to promote critical thinking and boost their reading and writing skills.
Storyworks Jr. also provides differentiation tools like leveled articles, exciting audio versions (also leveled), vocabulary slideshows, and award-winning "Behind the Scenes" videos build background knowledge and support all kinds of learners.
My students would love to improve their reading and writing skills by utilizing these short stories that spark their curiosity thus their desire to learn.
