Quick Picks

My students need individualized learning activities with Quick-Pick activity cards, Test Prep Math Rings, and a science quiz game to work on as they finish their work early. These materials will allow students to work on specific skills they need to review.

My Students

What does the student do when they finish their work earlier than others? Does he just sit there and put his head down? Does he disturb those still working? Or does he work on something fun that caters to his needs? Let that child take a "Quick Pick" activity to work on in his down time.

My students, even though in the same grade, have varying levels of knowledge and skills.

Children need activities that are do-able for them. Children need to feel successful in their learning. Their reading comprehension levels range from first grade up to fifth, and their math comprehension levels do the same. Quick Pick task cards can help the teacher individualize instruction for all students. The Quick Pick individualized board allows children to work on something interesting to them while other children in the classroom are completing their work. This also gives children something constructive to do in their spare time. The task cards are like games for the children, and each child has his own personal set of games to complete when time allows. Learning is fun!

My Project

Weekly a selected group of cards will be put into a child's name pocket on a chart. The child can "Quick Pick" a card anytime that he is through with an assignment or activity and has extra time. This gives the child a learning activity to complete instead of wasting time or getting into trouble. The learning activities can be suited for that specific child's abilities, so that it is fun and gives the child a sense of accomplishment. The cards cover different comprehensions skills, grammar skills, vocabulary skills, science and math skills, plus they introduce the child to a variety of interesting topics. The task cards will help the teacher differentiate the learning for each child. The children will love having their very own pocket of activities to do.

What does the child that finishes with his work early do?

The child eagerly does a Quick Pick activity which strengthens his self image as well as his learning skills. The child enjoys working at his level on fun topics in a fun way! Plus, the child is busy working on items picked just for him and his abilities. The Quick Pick activity gives the child something to do instead of getting into trouble when work is finished. Quick Picks are a 'Quick Fix' for helping student learning and behavior.
