Most of my students are English Language Learners, some of whom are new refugees. At our school, there are a total of 37 languages spoken, and in my classroom this year I have students speaking 10 different languages! We have great diversity and love celebrating all of the different cultures.
Unfortunately, many of my students also come from low-income households.
Though this may impact their home life, we do our best to make sure it does not affect their life at school. This can be difficult with limited access to resources, which is why your help is so important.
Even though my students might face more challenges, they always come to school eager and ready to learn! We love to have fun learning and exploring in Kindergarten, and I hope you can help!
Our school is an expressive arts magnet school. We believe in art integration and that art can help our students learn and express themselves, even through the core subjects. Adding art to your curriculum can be difficult, especially with 29 kindergartners (and some of them having special needs). Kwik Stix are like a mix between crayons and tempura paint. They make it easy for the child to paint with brilliant, bold colors but no mess. They also give lots of control which is great for a child with low fine motor.
These Kwik Stix will help my students to easily express themselves.
And they will help me to be able to add more art to our curriculum on a daily basis. I can't wait to see what my students will do with Kwik Stix!
