Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students will benefit from hands-on, engaging activities that allow them to build critical thinking skills in a low-pressure, supportive environment. Jigsaw puzzles provide a powerful and accessible way for students to strengthen essential skills such as perseverance, spatial reasoning, attention to detail, and collaboration.

By working through puzzles, students practice breaking down complex tasks into manageable steps, an important life skill that supports both academic success and independence.

Beyond academics, puzzles help build confidence. Many of my students experience frustration in traditional academic settings, but puzzles allow them to experience success, celebrate progress, and develop a growth mindset. Students will also have opportunities to work collaboratively, strengthening communication and social skills. They can also share snacks and drinks as they puzzle.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
