My students need nine beautiful new puzzles including a Crocodile Creek 72 pc Learn n Play Puzzle/Superheroes to help them keep their minds keen and challenged.
Do you remember being passionate about something and being able to do it well? Whether it's developing your tennis backhand or your basketball jumper, practice makes perfect and building on small successes is key. My pre-K puzzle solvers are starting to get better at putting the pieces together.
Welcome to Pre-K.
Come on in. We ask that you be respectful to those around you, as well as the materials you play with. Language isn't an issue here. We're confident you'll pick it up quickly. We learn through play and exploration, so you're required to bring your curiosity and imagination. Have fun. My kids are young, ambitious, and curious, but there's darkness lurking about, that's much too serious. Pre-K is a time to explore and play, to imagine and create until the end of the day.
But, the trouble that's looming, seems to be blooming. Academic rigor! Academic rigor! They're telling us to grow up much, much quicker. They want to prepare us to be college ready. We want to go to college, but at a pace that's steady.
Our parents can't help us out of the trouble that's lurking. It's not their fault! They're too busy working! It's up to you to help us keep our childhood, which we're about to lose, you wonderful people of DonorsChoose!
My Project
There are so many benefits to introducing young children to jigsaw puzzles. For the young ones, it helps develop their eye hand coordination as they look for pieces that fit together and maneuver them to fit. I am asking for nine new puzzles for my students.
Many cognitive skills are being developed when kids are figuring out how to solve a jigsaw puzzle. They're working on shape recognition, problem solving, and developing their memory skills.
When kids solve puzzles, they start small with 24 pieces and are now working their way up to 72 piece puzzles. They're building their confidence and they are able to see how far they've come and how much better they've gotten.
One of my students loved going to the puzzle center. One catch is that she would only work on the easier 24 piece puzzles. She never wanted to venture into the land of 36, 48, and forget about 72. But together with her peers, she quickly learned that nothing is impossible. This project seeks to bring in more challenging puzzles for them to work together and solve.
I absolutely love observing the final part of the puzzle solving process my pre-K kids exhibit.
There would only be a hand full of pieces left and all of them are scrambling to find the right fit for them like it's a race against the clock. But there is no pressure for them to finish within a certain time limit. What matters is that they're working together to achieve a common goal. When that final piece hits and the puzzle is complete, the screams of excitement and accomplishment are beautiful.
