It showed them that we understand their worries, allowing us to build a warm, positive classroom community right from the start.\r\n\r\nBut the impact extends beyond our classroom. By taking these books home, our students are beginning to associate a positive, fun school experience with a genuine love of books. They get to share the Pigeon's humor and message of perseverance with their families.
