Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help my students see that learning doesn’t always have to be with pen and paper! My students are always eager to learn and love to be exposed to different ways of learning. This group is special because they all learn at different paces and in different ways. These items will allow me to provide them with more interactive options to learn and grow as learners and critical thinkers.

I want my students to be engaged in enjoyable and entertaining activities!

And what better way to accomplish than by having them learn through games! With your help, I will be able to provide my students with Brain Games, Logic IQ Games, and a game show buzzer for a more fun way to practice as a whole class for tests. The more math tailored games include division flashcards, fraction war, 2 types of stack card games (division/multiplication and fractions), and fraction tiles. Division and fractions are two of the hardest math standards for students to learn and sometimes teaching on the board just doesn’t do the trick however, a more hands on approach will. These can be used for indoor recess, small groups, partner work, and review.

This project will allow me to introduce students to games that require them to think in many different ways that help strengthen their mind. These games will force the students to make mistakes, think, reevaluate, and redo, something they are not used to. There are also some other items in here such as paper, pencils, and ink that would benefit my students by allowing me to hand-make activities for them to do. I believe that learning should be fun while also focusing on covering the curriculum and areas needed to be taught. Please help me achieve this!
