Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I want to help me give my students the LEGO sets, Squishmallows, plush animals, and punch cards currently in my cart to create a system that celebrates growth in resilience and positive behavior. As the educator Maria Montessori wisely noted, 'The goal of early childhood education should be to activate the child’s own natural desire to learn.' My goal is to build student confidence by rewarding them as they develop the grit and persistence needed to navigate life’s challenges.

Using awards and incentives is vital because they provide immediate, positive feedback for 'invisible' victories—like choosing a calm response over frustration or trying a difficult task a second time.

The punch cards offer a visual roadmap of their progress, while rewards like the LEGO sets teach the value of delayed gratification. Furthermore, the weighted plush and squishy fidgets serve as tools for emotional regulation, helping students manage stress so they can return to learning. Your support provides the tangible milestones my students need to see their own growth, proving that their hard work and positive choices are the foundation for a successful future."
