My Students

This program is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of newly arrived immigrant and refugee students. We facilitate students' language learning through content classes in math, English, science, history, college and career readiness, music, art, and physical education. Most of our students have traveled a long way and endured a hard journey to be here and deserve only the best of what their new neighbors can provide!

Our students bring with them many gifts and talents, and we work alongside them as they spend a year with us acclimating to their new country!

My Project

As the instructional coach, I help teachers find the resources they need to help students understand the new language they are acquiring. Recently I noticed that a basic need is missing from our classrooms...anchor charts!

Students benefit from not only hearing spoken language but seeing it written down.

Anchor chart stands and paper are helpful for this, but also for creating charts, posters, graphics, etc. to make English more comprehensible. These can be strategically placed around the learning environment. Thank you for your support in advance!
