Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work with students in grades third to fifth grade. My students are enthusiastic, creative, and loving. My students work on building relationships with peers and adults. They work on improving their social skills and learning how to manage emotional stress. My students are special because they are who they are.

My Project
These materials will help my students regulate their emotions when they are deregulated and not able to calm down in the moment. My students need tangible objects that stimulate the senses in various ways. My students need to know they have materials readily available that will help them manage emotions when they are having trouble calming and soothing themselves. When my students are calm and regulated, they will be more productive in their classroom. They will also be able to interact in better ways with their peers and with their homeroom teacher.
