Now, my students will have fun and learn from each other during indoor recess.\r\n\r\nOur school does not have an indoor play area so students have indoor recess for many days in the school year. Although all my students are in Grade 3, most of them started school two years below grade level. Therefore, having the opportunity to develop engineering and mathematical skills during their free time is a huge advantage for them.\r\n\r\nStudents who work below grade level need different resources which scaffold learning. While they are playing games in groups they have the opportunity to interact with each other, solve problems, and come to a solution together.\r\n\r\nCurrently, 100% of my students are language learners. These students benefit immensely from conversations with their peers. The STEM games help them to communicate with each other and make connections that will transfer to meaningful learning.
