My Project

These materials will enhance our project-based learning classroom. In our classroom students really enjoy being creative and fostering exploration! Every student is encouraged to have creative choice in their work and these materials have been chosen with my students in mind. Our students choose various materials in their projects, which help them to enjoy independent, creative research and project product time.

With these new materials, my students will be able to choose from a variety of supplies that will allow them to work creatively and independently to achieve their project goals.

They will also be able to choose supplies that will make their project-based learning projects more in-depth and interesting. For example, the students would use the staplers, staple removers, colored pencils, sheet protectors for creating and updating their interactive learning and scientific notebooks. The ink, scissors, sharpies, and rulers will be used for creating their project products such as display boards, posters, flyers, brochures. and more. The teflon sheets and puzzle blanks will allow the students to design and create specialized puzzles as a fun, interactive product for their selected research topic. The excavation dinosaur eggs would go with our Paleontology/Archaeology project which allows the students hands-on experience in the skills needed to do paleontology or an archaeological dig, giving them first person experience in the skills it would take to become a paleontologist. Lastly the paper shredder will help with their 3D models where packing materials are needed to create protection within their more fragile projects, for example, protecting the egg in their egg drop experiments.

These materials will help my students grow stronger in project-based learning and project design. My students already have shown an amazing interest in creating interesting and creative projects, and this Donor's Choose project will only help enrich their experiences with project-based learning.
