This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
During the school day, my students earn Dragon Scales for extra focus and hard work. They use Dragon Scales like money to by rewards during the day such as lunch in the classroom and using the teacher chair for the day. The largest reward with their Dragon Scales is a trip to the classroom treasure chest. At the moment, however, our prize box only has a few pages of old stickers.
After many years of disrupted learning due to the pandemic, students need more support to develop positive learning behaviors.
My students would be highly motivated by fresh prizes in our prize box such as yoyos, squish toys, Hot Wheels, and finger puppets. For my students with some of the biggest behavior challenges, these incentives will keep them focused and help us get more learning done during the school day.
