Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are Pre-kindergarten through 2nd graders who are full of energy. They come to me for small group speech sessions. In addition, I go into classes to support my students with speech in their classrooms. The students have adapted to the challenges thrown at them this past year and are not only surviving but thriving in this very different post-pandemic environment. My students come from very diverse backgrounds. They love reading diverse books, participating in maker space activities and STEM challenges and are very curious. There are over 600 students in our school! I have a large population of English language learners. They are eager to learn and enjoy every minute of it. My students are both general and special education students. They are all amazing kids!

Prizes help to motivate and celebrate the academic and behavioral successes and hard work of my students.

Pop its, fruit snacks, balls and slinkys are so exciting for the students to earn. The also enjoy working for various prizes such as sunglasses or other fidgets in small group as well as whole class lessons. Crayons will be used for activities and prizes! Lastly, the plastic tablecloths will be used for school wide events such as our upcoming Black History Month showcase where students will show what they know.
