Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I currently teach a class of 24 smart and kind students in the area of Dallas, Texas. My kids come from a predominately low socioeconomic community. Although my students come from harsh and rough lifestyles, they are some of the happiest kiddos I know. In our class, we put our differences aside and become one learning environment for everybody.

For many of my students, this is their first REAL school year!

Many of them have only seen the wonders of virtual learning. It is time to give these students an unforgettable experience in class they will never forget.

My Project

Hello, my name is Ms. Fonseca and I am currently a first-grade teacher in the beautiful city of Dallas. I teach 24 smart bilingual students whom I would love to connect to real print articles/newspapers/magazines!

Technology has taken over during the past two years, but I want to show my students there is so much more than the web!

I would love for my students to receive these scholastic articles in order for them to READ something other than a screen. We must guide our little ones to the true joy of getting lost in a book or a magazine.

Students need to be exposed o all kinds of print and I know this will help engage them more in reading and not just through their tablet or IPAD.
