Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am in my 18th year of teaching in a low income school district, with students from various types of households. I have taught various grade levels, but many of those years have been in the K/1 classroom.

I love my job and have been searching for ways to meet the needs of all of my students while keeping them actively engaged in all content areas!

My students are the most energetic 5-6 years olds one can imagine and I know that development of high energy, active learning lessons will not only get them excited about learning, but will help cement the learning! They may come from homes that do not have much, but I want to give them everything!

My Project

In Kindergarten during the afternoon we have rotating academic centers. Many of the centers are hands on activities.

It would make the centers so much more enjoyable for Kindergarten if they were printed in Color For centers.

I print many of the colored copies at home for them. I have laminated the projects to keep them able to be used from year to year.

Learning in color is much more enjoyable than a plain black and white copy.

I would also use the color copier to make hands on centers for my students, special projects to send home, special photos that we take of the students so that their parents can see what we are doing in the classroom, especially since parents are not allowed on campus this year.

I would love to be able to print these color copies at school.
