Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have an area in the classroom where they pretend play, their dramatic play classroom center. The dramatic play area is a vital part of any preschool classroom. In this area, students learn vital social skills, cooperative skills, and problem-solving choices. Students using dramatic play learn basic skills such as alphabet awareness and early math through the toys and items that are in their environment. They are learning to role play in the play dollhouse. They use the puppet section of the classroom to reenact stories they've heard, or get creative and do their own show. Through dramatic play students increase their language development by using the items in their environment and communicating with others alongside them.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
