My Project

While there are many different ways AVID helps prepare students for life after high school, they are still looking for more ways to understand what that life will be like and how they can be ready.

With the Naked Roommate books, Senior AVID students will have an opportunity to discuss and work through a multitude of scenarios that will be part of their everyday lives once they have thrown those 4-sided hats into the air.

Not only will they continue to develop their skills of reading, writing, inquiry and collaboration, but they will have the chance to apply these skills to real-life situations.

AVID students are some of the best our school has to offer. They are often first-generation, low-income, or have some other extenuating circumstance that makes getting to college a bit more challenging than the next kiddo. These students voluntarily take the course for the entirety of their high school career, so they have the skills necessary to stand above those circumstances and obtain success. This book study will allow students another way to prepare for their futures.
