While it is not a \"new\" text we are introducing to the class, as we had 10 copies, we are able to broaden the choice the students will have when it comes to selecting the texts and now we are also able to offer reading circles throughout the entirety of the AVID Senior year because we have enough copies for students.\r\n\r\nThis particular book is opening up conversation with students about how to build strong and healthy habits, while evaluating why they may have some bad ones and what they can do about it. Once a week, the students sit in small groups and read their chapters, followed by discussion and reflection. The students have access to real world and immediate scenarios which they can start building prior to graduation and for many years after.\r\n\r\nI believe our classroom is a special place and your contribution continues to remind students they are important and the very best versions of themselves is needed in this world. Students came back to school and said how relaxing it was in my classroom.\r\nIn addition to the calming corner, some of the posters are positioned in the area where the support groups will be held.
