Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
These materials will provide my students gardening experiences that many of them do not have access to at home. Many live in multi-family housing projects that do not provide a lawn space. The books will provide them background knowledge about caring for our environment while the other materials will provide them the actual physical experience of gardening. They types of seeds are for pollinators as well as herbs. The small pots will provide each of them their own plants to care for, while the large planters will allow us to grow vegetables.
My goals for this project are to provide an enriching experience for my young students.
My students are very inquisitive when we are outdoors and deserve to have this experience.
