This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach 6th grade students math in an economically challenged part of town. Most of my students are very driven by the opportunity to receive an education, and this shows in their work.
With all of the hard work that my students put in, I think they deserve access to the best educational experience.
My goal is to build a collection of materials, rewards and class supplies to support my students while we learn math.
My Project
My students need basic care items to help support learning. When these basic needs are not met barriers are built that can impact learning.
We are in need of the following materials to get us through the winter months: tissues, PPE, and first aid supplies to support our classroom.
We are often running out of things that most people take for granted and need support to get these materials back in our classroom. Having these materials with help with the classroom behaviors that often result from lack of these basic needs.
