With language barriers, an effective mode of instruction is to have hands on and physical examples for students to look at and manipulate. With the restraints of being in the city and limited funding, most of my students have little to no exposure with hands on lab experiences, magazines, classroom pets or hands on instruction. My goal is to take my class beyond the textbook. I plan to do this through a series of projects, this one in particular I am asking for Scholastic Magazines to help students increase their writing and reading skills in the content area. I want to provide my students with experiences they will remember and develop life long learners.
