My Project

I have amazing students who have not quite grasped how to reach their potential! In my class, students will be using literacy strategies they may have already learned, along with new ones and some fun and games to increase their vocabulary, and reading comprehension.

The materials I have requested for my room will help students feel comfortable in their learning environment (quiet, warm place) as well as give them all the supplies they will need to be able to complete the projects they choose to show mastery and growth.

Students will be able to choose where they sit in my class in comfy chairs, read in soft light, or stretch out on a carpeted area on the floor to read and work on their projects. A student feeling comfortable is a huge motivator!

As we know, not all students learn the same way, so it is important that students are allowed to have a choice in showing us what they know! Students will be able to choose a project to show mastery and with poster board, glue sticks, and colored pencils students will have everything they need in the classroom to be successful. It is also important to have fun while learning and obtaining new vocabulary, so in my class, we will be dedicated to learning new vocabulary by using Boggle, Scrabble, and other word games.
