Welcome to my classroom. My students come from all districts within Los Angeles. I am a magnet teacher in the Modern Media and Communications Magnet Program at Palms Middle School. We have students of diverse backgrounds and cultures from South LA, East LA and West LA. Our students are motivated and excited to learn back in person! We specialize in integrating twenty-first century skills within our math and science curriculum. One project we are working on is kid blogging and publishing student work into text.

My Project
Some students will be coming back to school for in person learning. One of the most valuable experiences of Math and Science is being able to write, explain, and justify your work! The poster paper will be used as a foundation for anchor charts. The red and green pens are going to be used for self correction- I need a lot of writing utensils as I will have to clean and sanitize materials everyday. The mechanical pencils will be used as a class set. I will not be using a pencil sharpener, because I do not want to sanitize the device every day. Rather kids will sanitize their own pencils. White board and markers will be used for interactive discussions, bell ringers and exit slips. Students can easily sanitize these items at the end of the day.
Back to school basics need to come in large quantities, as I will be teaching children how to sanitize their classroom basics daily to help prevent the spread of germs.
