Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My middle school students thrive when they feel recognized, supported, and motivated. In our classroom, we use a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) system to encourage responsibility, respect, and perseverance. Students earn "Nightingale dollars" for meeting behavior and academic expectations, which they can exchange for rewards.

To strengthen this system, I am requesting high-interest incentives: Squishmallows and stainless steel tumblers.

These items are highly motivating for middle school students and help make our PBIS system more meaningful and engaging. Squishmallows provide a comforting and fun reward that students are excited to earn. Stainless steel tumblers offer a practical incentive that students can use daily, promoting hydration and a sense of pride in their accomplishments. By offering rewards like squishmallows and tumblers that students truly value, we can reinforce positive behaviors and encourage continued growth.

Your support will help build a classroom culture where positive behavior is recognized and celebrated. When students see that their efforts lead to meaningful rewards such as squishmallows or tumblers, they are more likely to stay engaged and make positive choices. Recognizing student effort in meaningful ways helps build confidence, responsibility, and a stronger school community.
