We look forward to showcasing it again at our Spring Track Meet and in the fall at our Football Carnival.\r\n\r\nWhat might seem like a small addition has had a big impact. For many of our students, these events are some of their most memorable middle school experiences. The smell of popcorn, the shared laughter, and the sense of togetherness all contribute to moments that students carry with them. I have used it at professional development meetings and to plan lessons for the entire week. The small, convenient size of the iPad has allowed me to move around the classroom with ease, helping students from the back of the room as I mirror the iPad on the screen. \r\nAs I regularly use iReady, StudySync, Flocabulary, and BrainPOP, the iPad has allowed me to plan and preview lessons more efficiently. For example, I have used the iPad to review StudySync videos and texts before presenting them, I have assigned targeted iReady lessons based on student data, and created quick, interactive vocabulary checks in Flocabulary. Some students received medals, some received certificates of recognition. \r\n\r\nWe are currently saving the trophies for the upcoming Spring awards assembly, where the top-achieving students will receive a trophy. I will be writing an additional project to ask for more trophies, because we expect to recognize more students than anticipated. Additionally, students who pass the exam for industry certifications will also receive a recognition lei in June.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the trophies and the recognition Leis, they were very excited and asked if they get to choose the color of their lei. Most importantly, it creates a safe space for students to feel safe. As for the utility cart, I will use the cart to add recourses that can be helpful to students when they are in need of help.
