Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am blessed to teach an amazing group of moderate/severe special education high school students. Our school is a Title I school serving a diverse population. The students I work with are determined and strive to persevere through social, emotional, and academic challenges.

My Community-Based Instruction (CBI) class has worked with peers on the yearbook staff, attended school activities, and volunteered in the community.

They excel with movement and hands-on experiences. I am blessed to be their teacher, and I strive to encourage students beyond their greatest expectations.

My Project

Positive behavior is a choice that I would like to model and teach my students. When students choose to model positive behavior by helping a friend, teacher, or classmate, I will bless the student with a Starbucks Gift Card. It's a lesson on helping the classroom climate, and taking these experiences into the world.

Students will learn that it is a choice to have positive behavior and negative behavior.

I will reward exemplary students that consistently model positive behavior. Thank you for supporting special education students and joining me on this journey of growth.
