Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a counselor, it is important to be able to provide a safe space for students, especially for those who are going through challenging times. Many of our students do not come from warm and loving families and often seek for a caring adult on campus to have a relationship with. For that reason, counselors try to take the lead on providing a safe place for kids to have recess and lunch, in addition to providing incentives for students to do well in school. Supplies donated will be used for these incentives and support the lunch bunch group that comes to counselor offices throughout the school year. Anything donated would be greatly appreciated.

My school receives Title I funding meaning they are trying to bridge the gap between low income students and other students, all while trying to recover from the Maui fires.
