Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

This project includes highly engaging hands on learning tools. I teach 2nd grade students who come from all around the world. Many of these students are learning English as a second language. Some students are even new country and just learning English as well as the letters and sounds.

Making learning fun will help students to be focus and ready to learn.

This project includes fun activities that help students build their academic skills. Research suggests that students who are able to touch and manipulate items are more likely to remember what they are learning.

Many of these tools in this project are pop-its. Who doesn't love pop its? They are a kid favorite. These pop-its will be used in so many different ways to help students to be successful when they are learning. The pops also provide those students who are sensory seeking the input that they need. The pop-its will help students to with abc identification, letter sounds, learning the order of the abc's, putting letters in ABC order, sounding out cvc words, and so much more. These are just a few of the many ways these tools could be used. Another resource will provide me with different ways in which I can build my students skills using these tools. There is also a phonics games that will help build my students reading skills.

These tools will be great additions to my classroom, and greatly appreciate. My students will love to use these resources next year as they are growing as a learner.
