This project is created to help my intervention students have materials that are hands on. Many of my students are struggling with learning to do math or to read. These materials will help fill in the holes that they may have. I work with students in second and third grade. Many of our students are ELL and over 90% free and reduced lunch. My students come from all around the world, and many speak little to no English. Some students have never been in school anywhere. Over 50% of our students qualify for being an ELL student. However, since our school has so many ELL students, I work with these students in intervention groups. These students need hands on materials to help learn the same skills as their peers as well as learn English. These students also often come to school without the needed school supplies to help them to be successful. So these materials will help me to create lessons and centers that are hands on and engaging. For example, I will be able to create independent learning tasks for some students while I work with others. I'm excited to get these materials in order to help my students continue to grow and learn as learners.
