My Students

Welcome to Kindergarten! One of my favorite things about my students is how quickly they have built relationships. They are so excited to see each other in the morning and when it's time to leave every single one of them is saying goodbye to each other. It is the sweetest thing.

Twenty three students mean twenty three different personalities, yet they all manage to come together to learn and grow!

Together we are growing our future leaders of tomorrow. Thank you for supporting their growing individual interests and needs.

My Project

The first goal of this project is to turn down the bright florescent lights in our classroom. Reducing the flicker and glare from fluorescent lights is helpful in reducing, if not eliminating, the headaches, migraines and eye strain caused by the brightness. The reduced flicker and softer lighting will be especially beneficial to my students with ADHD. Studies show that kids in classrooms with softer lighting, are calmer and able to focus more in class. I plan to do this by covering my ceiling lights with Glare Shade Fluorescent Light Coverings- Magnetic Skylight or Ceiling Light Fixture Covers. I also want to bring in a new light, Medusa Multi Head Modern Tall Standing Lamp, for our library. This way if I have the lights turned down, students in the library can still see their books.

With this project I hope to bring new lighting and organization tools into our learning environment.

The second goal of this project is to help my students organize Math and Literacy centers, the student supply area, turn in stations, and fun Friday materials. I plan to include my students in the organization so they can take pride and ownership in it! This will hopefully help us keep our supplies, small center pieces, and turn in papers in the correct place. With the help of this project I plan to use a 12" Lazy Susan Style Caddy with Removable Bins for the student supply area, Large Label Window & Dual Handles & Fabric Cubby Organizer Baskets (set of 8) for fun Friday materials, and the Plastic Storage Baskets, 5 Tier Shelf Paper Letter Tray, Storex Letter Size Deep Storage Tray with Non-Snap Lid to organize classroom materials to make them student accessible.
