This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are some of the most amazing young people on this planet. However, many come to school uninterested in the institution of school. I have found that the arts and ceramics, in particular, can be the hook that gets young people excited about school. Art is the hammer that shapes our reality.
Many of my students come from extreme poverty.
My students come from diverse backgrounds. I have found that once my students are given a chance and a hook that gets them involved, they can do anything.
My Project
My students need glaze brushes to finish their amazing ceramic artwork! My students use glaze brushes to put glaze on their ceramic artwork. When students glaze their ceramic artwork, it brings their artwork to life! The glaze allows my students to personalize their artwork.
It is an amazing thing to see how a positive ceramic art experience can change a young person's outlook on life!
I have seen how a positive ceramic art experience can change the way my students view themselves and who they can be! Please help to be a change-maker in my students' lives!
