When I was running jobs, it was hard to get my carpenters to let me know, so this skills is huge. \r\n\r\nThird, it saves us the bigger fee of buying filters. If you use these vacs without bags, the filters go bad in as little as a few days, instead of allowing us to use them all year. \r\n\r\nI am just so grateful for your donations to help out the students!\r\n\r\nI am going to add some photos of our class in our OSHA 10 construction certification (we are getting over 60 students this important certification this year!). Teachers really love having a space they can bring students to, with materials ready to go, where kids can actually make and build things for their projects.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite examples is from our Chinese classes. Students used the materials to make really cool cultural displays, combining language and visuals. They were writing characters, building scenes, and presenting ideas in a way that felt creative and real, not just something from a worksheet. You could tell they were proud of what they made.\r\n\r\nWe've also been using the materials in Theory of Knowledge during our art unit. Students are creating visual pieces that explore big questions about perspective, interpretation, and meaning. Instead of just talking about ideas, they are actually building representations of them, which has led to some really thoughtful discussions.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first showed up, students were genuinely excited. A lot of them just wanted to start messing around with them right away. It shifted the vibe in the room. Kids who don't always jump into traditional assignments were suddenly engaged because they could make something and work with their hands.\r\n\r\nNext, we're hoping to build toward bigger projects where students combine research, writing, and design. The goal is for them to create work they can actually share and be proud of, not just turn in and forget about.\r\n\r\nReally appreciate your support. This has made a real difference in how students are learning and engaging in class.","fullyFundedDate":1769848986033,"projectUrl":"project/maker-space-room-supplies/9867421/","projectTitle":"Maker Space Room Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Miller","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp714376_orig.jpg?crop=1785,1785,x0,y297&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1769901787545","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/stevenmiller"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_36014","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":854,"numTeachers":43,"percentFrplEligible":85,"percentAsian":27,"percentBlack":40,"percentWhite":4,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":16,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":1,"percentMultiracialImputed":8,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"19.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":76.2,"schoolId":36014,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Rainier Beach High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Rainier Beach High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/washington/district-one-seattle-public-schools/rainier-beach-high-school/36014"}
