Students consume and produce media frequently in my IB Language and Literature course. They do everything from watching film and mass media, to producing podcasts and making short films. And while our classroom has access to computer carts, we do not have headphones for the students. Have you ever listened to 32 students editing podcasts at once? It's impossible to concentrate! The headphones will also allow students to consume media at their own pace, to go back and review material. Without the headphones we are limited to consuming media as a whole class, or media without sound. Students are also responsible for running our class webpage and class social media accounts. It is one way we interact with various communities outside of our space. The iPad mini, with dedicated class-only accounts, makes this a very simple and safe process. We would greatly appreciate your support in making out classroom a 21st-century learning space!
