Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a dedicated National Board Certified Education Specialist working in a high school environment. Our Title I school serves a diverse population, and I am inspired by the determination of my students as they navigate social, emotional, and academic challenges. In my Community-Based Instruction (CBI) class, we have had the opportunity to engage in various activities, including joining the yearbook staff, participating in school events, volunteering in the community, and serving on the Associated Student Body (ASB). My students thrive in movement and hands-on experiences, and I am truly honored to be their teacher, striving to encourage them to surpass their greatest expectations.

Our Inclusive Video Game Cafe is in full swing and students need a PlayStation Plus Premium membership.

This subscription will help students capture and celebrate the friendships they build in our Inclusive Video Game Cafe.

Through cooperative gameplay, shared goals, and team roles, students practice communicating, encouraging one another, and working together. Having access to the premium membership will create a lasting reminder of these experiences and the important role each member plays in our club.

Using the PlayStation Plus subscription, will extend teamwork beyond the games, giving students opportunities to make shared decisions, express themselves, and recognize each other’s contributions.

For students who use wheelchairs, adaptive gaming equipment, or communication devices, seeing themselves represented alongside their teammates can reinforce that they are valued members of our school community. This subscription will help us tell the story of our club—one of collaboration, shared successes, and friendships that continue beyond the gaming table.
