Playground Improvements Needed

My students and school community need updated playground equipment. A permanent Geo Dome would allow for hours of fun!

I teach first grade in a very small, rural community. With a small tax payer base (economy depends on tourism, which is very down) it is too much to ask our community to come up with the additional money needed. We really need to update the very old playground equipment, which was not designed for children under 7. We have a Pre-K program that also uses the playground and much of the equipment is not appropriate for them. Students have had serious injuries from trying to use the old equipment.

Our students have not had new playground equipment for many years. Parts of the existing equipment has broken and not been replaced because of budget problems. Students in grades K-2 have even expressed concerns about the quality of the equipment, noting that much of it is broken.

This climbing unit would be a great addition to our current playground, allowing students to explore with climbing and hanging, which stimulates student coordination, and self-confidence. Many students cannot use the current equipment because it was not designed for their smaller bodies. The new equipment would be used in physical education classes, and to promote health and wellness.

Your financial help will create a playground that students look forward to playing on! The entire community uses the playground and my class would greatly benefit from a new piece of equipment.
