My students need bike helmets to keep them safe while riding the bikes at recess. They also need balls and other fun things to do to keep them happy, healthy, and active.

My Students

I work with three, four and five year old children in an inner-city school. We have fifteen students in our classroom. Our students are full of energy and need a variety of outdoor/indoor activities to keep them engaged. The school is located in a low-income neighborhood and our school has limited resources.

The children need hands-on activities to reinforce the concepts that we are teaching and to build gross motor skills.

The children are fun and energetic and they deserve to have materials that are appropriate for their age.

My Project

My students love riding bikes during recess but they need helmets to stay safe. Having a variety of activities for the playground will help to keep the children happy and active while bouncing balls, walking a balance beam and hopping along like a bunny with the hop along balls.

These fun activities will help to build large motor skills, cooperation, and eye hand coordination.

All of these active play items can also be used indoors when the weather is bad, so we get double the fun and double the skill building. After the children have enjoyed an active play time, they will be ready to build their brain power.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
