My Project

What I love most about my students is their curiosity, creativity, and enthusiasm for learning. They come to school excited to explore, build, and try new things, and they show so much pride in their accomplishments—big and small. Many of my students learn best through hands-on experiences, and playdough is a tool that truly captures their attention while making learning fun and meaningful.

Playdough will be used to support early literacy skills such as letter recognition, letter formation, and beginning sounds.

Students will roll, shape, and build letters, which helps strengthen fine motor skills and reinforces proper letter formation. Using playdough gives students a multisensory way to connect what they see, hear, and touch, making it easier for them to remember letters and sounds.

Playdough will also support early math development by helping students form numbers, count objects, and explore simple concepts like more, less, and equal. Students can create numbers and then build matching quantities, which helps make abstract math ideas more concrete. This hands-on practice builds confidence and deepens understanding.

Overall, playdough will create a calm, engaging, and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable exploring and learning at their own pace. It allows me to differentiate instruction, provide small-group practice, and meet students where they are. Most importantly, playdough turns learning into an enjoyable experience while building strong foundations in both literacy and math.
