Help me give my students hands on activities to learn through play with the alphabet and numbers. We will turn playdough, water, sand table play into a space to reinforce learning.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My energetic kindergartners enter the classroom ready to learn, discover, and explore. Most of them speak a language other than English at home and are learning English at school. At our school more than 90% of students qualify for free lunch.
They gleefully read books, draw pictures, build structures, and pretend play throughout the day.
They beam with joy as they proudly identify letters and discover sounds. They love to learn! I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!
My Project
These hands-on alphabet and number toys will increase students' exposure to letters and numerals. Our sand and water table and playdough center will become places where students see and interact with the alphabet and numbers. They love the sensory stimulation of the sand and water table, and the playdough center. These materials will reinforce our teaching as students play with the alphabet and numbers in these activity centers. Counting cars will be a new activity center that will help students learn to recognize the numerals and explore the value of each number 1-10. The alphabet and number stamps will be another new activity center that the students will enjoy as they practice using the letters to stamp out words, including their fascination with their own names and classmates names.
