Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My transitional kindergarten students love to play and move. They are an energetic group or 4 and 5 year old students. They are learning to collaborate, make connections and build confidence. They love a good challenge and some variety during play. This project will help us create an outdoor environment with different options for play and learning. Currently, our outdoor space has limited resources and our play equipment is in need of replacements.

This project will create a structured yet playful outdoor space that supports my TK students' learning through movement and play.

It will provide equipment such as balls, soccer nets, jump ropes and cones. My hope is that students will improve their gross motor skills as they kick, throw and catch. It will motivate students to incorporate more movement into their play. The dice will motivate students to learn counting and number recognition while they play. I'm excited about the possibilities that this project will bring to my students and the other two TK classrooms that share the same playground.
