Thanks to your support, I was able to receive a variety of materials that have made a significant impact on my students' understanding of mathematics. The base-ten kit with manipulatives has been especially beneficial in helping my students grasp the concept of regrouping in three-digit addition and subtraction. It's been amazing to watch them move from uncertainty to confidence as they interact with these tangible tools. One student even shared that using the base-ten kit helped him finally understand place value, which was a huge breakthrough for him.\r\nThe magnetic regrouping chart, along with the hundreds, tens, and ones manipulatives, has been another key resource in supporting my second and third graders as they deepen their understanding of place value. These visual aids provide them with a hands-on experience that makes abstract concepts much more accessible. The students have been able to actively engage with the materials, reinforcing their learning in a way that traditional methods alone could not achieve. It's been incredibly rewarding to see their eyes light up as they make connections and gain confidence in their math abilities.\r\nAdditionally, the rekenreks that I received have been a game-changer for my first graders. These visual and kinesthetic tools allow them to explore addition and counting in a concrete way, which has made a world of difference in their understanding. The students love using them, and I've seen firsthand how these materials are helping many of my young learners gain a solid foundation in mathematics. Your kindness is truly making a difference in their educational journey, and I can't thank you enough for investing in their success.","fullyFundedDate":1733233853105,"projectUrl":"project/math-in-our-hands-building-bright-minds/8935679/","projectTitle":"Math in Our Hands: Building Bright Minds With Manipulatives","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Williford","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1585381_orig.jpg?crop=942,942,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1680136341220","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/washingtonlearningcenter"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_84803","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":616,"numTeachers":25,"percentFrplEligible":62,"percentAsian":64,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":30,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"24.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":69.2,"schoolId":84803,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about McKinley Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"McKinley Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/san-gabriel-unified-school-district/mckinley-elementary-school/84803"}
