Our playground has plenty of space, but we didn't have much equipment to fill it. Thanks to the donations received, we were able to provide choices for students to move their bodies, problem solve and collaborate. \r\n\r\nWe have used the cones and balls frequently, but the jumpropes need a little more love. We have dedicated time each week to learning how to use an individual jumprope and a longer one to be used in a larger group. These items have my students moving, falling and getting back up. \r\n\r\nThis donation helped me motivate my students to get up and go. They are taking turns and learning how to care for outside equipment. Now, we are finding ways to use the supplies to find movement with our indoor learning. My students helped me open the table and were so excited. At first, they had no idea what it was or what it would provide for our classroom. I shared pictures of the endless activities that we had to look forward to. They shared their interests and provided suggestions about how to use our new table. \r\n\r\nThis school year, my new students have experienced paints, play and plenty of joyful laughter while using our new table. The most difficult part of receiving the tray is deciding what activity to do first. This table is everything we needed and more. Watching my students play with so much excitement and curiosity make my teacher heart happy. When I shared that we were fully funded for a project, some understood and felt and happy. Unboxing day is where they all understood wha it meant to be funded. We opened all supplies as a class and the excitement in the room was out of this world. They couldn't contain themselves and immediately began planning their next big project. \r\n\r\nWhen we received our supplies, we were nearing the end of the school year. The students were able to use the paints to create their final self portraits which they proudly displayed and left the parents speechless. The portraits turned out to be a student, parent and staff favorite.
