Planning For At-Risk Students

My teachers need 4 desks to meet and plan together.

"I am currently an Academic Intervention Teacher for at-risk students in an elementary school. We are in a high-need community servicing a number of students who are at-risk of being promoted."

We have a large number of at-risk students who need additional help and support in reading, writing, and mathematics. My teachers are very dedicated and give up their time before and after school and on weekends to plan and meet the needs of their students. We are presently sharing our building with another school and space is very limited. A number of my teachers are sharing rooms with each other. Many times classes are covered with the coverage teacher in the classroom teachers' room not allowing for a common place for the classroom teacher an opportunity to meet with his or her fellow colleagues in order to plan together and share ideas to meet the needs of their students.

Luckily, we have a room to plan to meet the needs of our students but it is lacking desks. Unfortunately if there is no place where we could sit down together and plan before, during, and after school hours to meet the needs of our at-risk students and all our students our students will not meet the standards to be promoted to the next grade level. These desks will ensure my teachers to plan for their students effectively.

Providing my teachers with these desks will allow us to meet together to plan and share best teaching practices with one another to meet the needs of all our at-risk students who are failing to be promoted and become successful and in addition all of the students in the school to become successful academically.
