This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Trenton, New Jersey, is (and this is amazing!) a sanctuary city. Students from nations all over the world immigrate to Trenton with their families. The city, although economically poor in many areas, is rich in cultures and heritage from all corners of the world. We have a growing population of hispanic immigrants, most speaking their native language Spanish. Many of our students, both native and nonnative to Trenton, struggle to meet basic health and hygiene needs each day. This means that it is extra important for us to make sure they are keeping cool in the classroom during the hotter months of the year.

The item I am requesting will help transform our classroom into a project-based learning space - I am requesting a poster board rack for students to access materials for projects.

This basic organization item will go a long way in ensuring our students have an organized and functional classroom that supports their social-emotional learning. I am requesting one large poster board rack for organization of materials. Students will be able to access them whenever they need!
