One powerful moment occurred during a small-group lesson when students who normally struggled to focus were able to stay engaged through the entire activity after having a healthy snack. We've also connected snacks to social-emotional learning by discussing how meeting basic needs like hunger helps the brain learn. Students reflect on how they feel before and after snack time, helping them recognize the connection between nourishment, mood, and academic focus.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the snacks, their reactions were a mix of excitement and relief. Several students shared that they often come to school hungry or skip meals, which makes it hard to concentrate. Seeing shelves stocked with snacks made students feel supported, safe, and cared for. It created an immediate sense of trust and community, showing students that their well-being truly matters in our classroom.\r\n\r\nNext, students will build on this experience through ongoing lessons focused on self-awareness, empathy, and community care. During current projects, snacks allow students to fully participate in group work, discussions, and assessments without distraction. We are also incorporating conversations about making healthy choices and supporting one another, reinforcing the idea that learning thrives when students' basic needs are met. Thanks to our donors, students are better prepared—physically and emotionally to succeed each day.","fullyFundedDate":1767389148617,"projectUrl":"project/fueling-compassion-through-caring-snacks/9972793/","projectTitle":"Fueling Compassion Through Caring Snacks","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ha","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4234500_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1487198650134","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/hendricks101"},{"teacherId":4234500,"projectId":9945523,"letterContent":"We are using the new water fountain every single day to support student health, focus, and learning. A powerful moment happened during a science and wellness lesson when students discussed how hydration affects brain function, energy levels, and concentration. Students tracked their water intake throughout the day and reflected on how having easy access to fresh, clean water helped them stay alert during lessons and more engaged in class discussions. The fountain has become part of our daily routine, reinforcing healthy habits that directly support learning.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the new water fountain, their reaction was immediate excitement and relief. Many students shared that they often avoided drinking enough water during the school day because of limited access or concerns about cleanliness. Seeing a modern fountain that provides fresh, clean, and safe drinking water made students feel cared for and valued. It sent a clear message that their well-being matters just as much as their academic success.\r\n\r\nNext, students will build on this experience through a cross-curricular project focused on health, environmental responsibility, and community impact. They will analyze the benefits of clean water access, explore how hydration impacts learning and wellness, and examine how refillable water stations reduce plastic waste. Students will also create awareness materials to encourage healthy hydration habits throughout the school, using the fountain as a real-world example of how access to clean water supports both student success and sustainability.","fullyFundedDate":1766722641118,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-water-fountain/9945523/","projectTitle":"Classroom Water Fountain","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ha","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4234500_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1487198650134","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/hendricks101"},{"teacherId":4234500,"projectId":9702664,"letterContent":"This AI-enabled digital notebook has transformed the way my students capture and interact with information. Instead of just writing notes on paper, they can handwrite naturally and have their notes converted into searchable text, and record and transcribe spoken language in real time, which supports deeper comprehension and review later. It also helps students organize their thoughts, create to-do lists, and reflect on their learning through smart schedule and summary features built into the device.\r\nStudents are especially excited about the AI features and multilingual support. They love that they can speak in class or during group discussions and see their words turned instantly into text on the screen, and that they can ask the integrated AI (powered by ChatGPT) to summarize content or expand on concepts they don't fully understand. The paper-like e-ink display makes writing feel familiar and comfortable, encouraging creativity and extended focus without eye strain.\r\nYes! Students who struggle with traditional note-taking especially those with language learning, attention, or processing difference have truly benefited. For students learning English or other languages, the transcription and translation tools lower barriers by helping them capture and understand content in ways that were harder before. Creative students and those who enjoy storytelling or multimedia projects are also thriving, as they can combine written, spoken, and AI-generated ideas into rich, engaging work.","fullyFundedDate":1764784112398,"projectUrl":"project/math-meets-ai-a-stem-ai-station-for-fut/9702664/","projectTitle":"Math Meets AI: A STEM AI Station for Future Innovators","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ha","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4234500_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1487198650134","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/hendricks101"},{"teacherId":4234500,"projectId":9696077,"letterContent":"The iMac is helping my students learn by giving them access to tools that make learning more interactive, engaging, and relevant. Instead of passively receiving information, students are actively creating—designing presentations, editing videos, researching real-world topics, and collaborating on shared projects. The technology allows lessons to be differentiated, so students can work at their own pace and in ways that match their learning styles. It also builds essential digital literacy skills that students will need beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most about the iMac is how professional and powerful it feels. They are thrilled to use the same type of technology they see used by designers, creators, and professionals. The large, clear display and fast performance make tasks smoother and more enjoyable, which keeps students focused and motivated. Many students take extra pride in their work because they feel like what they're creating truly matters.\r\n\r\nStudents who have especially warmed to this technology include those who struggle with traditional paper-and-pencil tasks and students who are more creative or tech-curious. Visual learners, students with attention challenges, and English language learners benefit from the multimedia features that allow them to express understanding in multiple ways. Shy students have also found their voice through digital projects, gaining confidence as they share their ideas using technology.","fullyFundedDate":1764710345722,"projectUrl":"project/a-window-to-the-future-bringing-stem-to/9696077/","projectTitle":"A Window to the Future: Bringing STEM to Life","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ha","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4234500_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1487198650134","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/hendricks101"},{"teacherId":9793848,"projectId":8859091,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support through DonorsChoose.
