Pirate Volleyball Club!

Help me give my students knee pads, volleyballs and a net for a Volleyball sports club which isn't a sport students have exposure to until middle or high school, so I'd love to expose students to a new sport earlier on in their lives!

My Students

We have a group of over 160 fourth and fifth grade students. These students come from all different backgrounds. Many of our students are considered to be living in poverty and many do not have access to recreational sports leagues due to the cost of joining.

Our students are caring, kind, bright individuals who deserve the experience of learning a new sport and being on a team.

These students want to learn, they love to learn, and given the opportunity and the tools they need, our students will change the world.

My Project

Students are often exposed to sports such as soccer, baseball, and football early on in their lives; however, they often don't learn about any other sports until middle or high school.

My goal is to broaden the horizon for elementary sports by starting a volleyball club!

Many students won't be exposed to volleyball until they are in middle or high school, so I'd love to foster a love for the sport early on and help students learn the basics.

I myself joined the volleyball team in middle school and I remember struggling to learn the basics such as serving and passing. Creating a volleyball club in an elementary school can give these students a leg up in learning the sport and perfecting their technique.

I believe this club will also help create a team morale atmosphere and foster good sportsmanship among the students.
