My students need materials for painting. Aprons in a variety of sizes will protect their clothing from stray drops or drips. New brushes will replace old, worn, and over-used brushes.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students love to create. They come into my classroom each day excited to see what we are going to make. It is a disappointment to me and to them when the supplies we have available limit the types of fun and creative projects we can do. My wish is for my students to be able to have a wide variety of supplies at their disposal so that their creativity is not limited.
My students range from kindergartners to 6th graders.
Our school is in a farming community in Arizona. Many students come from homes that are struggling to make ends meet. Seasonal work is common in our area due to farming, and many families have months with little or no income.
My students come to school every day excited to learn, despite challenges they may be facing. Our school is a happy place, because of the students. Their enthusiasm and excitement fills our hallways and makes our building a learning community.
My Project
If you ask a student, what an artist does, almost all of them will say "Paints!" I'm hoping to give my young artists more opportunity to work with paint in art class. The materials requested will help me do just that.
Creativity isn't always neat; sometimes it gets messy.
For this reason, we need aprons. Our students are required to wear a pretty specific dress code to school, and for some students, this means they have just a few good school tops and bottoms. Painting, even with washable paint, can stain or discolor students' clothing. Having a supply of aprons in sizes to fit kindergartners up to sixth graders will allow students to be able to paint without having to worry about ruining their clothing.
We do not get to purchase new art supplies very often, and for this reason, our supplies and materials are well-used. We need new round and flat brushes in several sizes to replace old ones that are no longer useful to students. Having new brushes will allow students to focus on their artwork, and be able to use the right tool for the job.
Aprons and new paint brushes will allow our students to paint more often and focus on creating masterpieces.
