My Project

As a literacy specialist I have the privilege of working in small intervention groups with a variety of grade levels all day long. My students are awesome, curious, and sometimes discouraged in reading. My job is to help them see that they are amazing readers and develop a love of literacy in their hearts. We need your support to ensure that our classroom continues to be an advantageous place to learn and grow.

My students come from diverse backgrounds and grades, they are always ready to tackle each day with enthusiasm and hard work!

They have wonderful, can-do attitudes and appreciate the process of learning and growing. My school is nestled in a quiet community. We are unique in that we are the largest school in the district. Our school has great spirit and dedicated teachers! Our families make our community great as well! My classroom includes children with many commuting parents, as we are a commuter town. Many stay after school in the after care until their parents can come pick them up. We also serve a lot of military families at my school.

The resources I'm requesting will help me expand my robust small group intervention program with engaging games and activities. The Catch the Fox game and sorting pocket chart will support my learners in advancing their knowledge of foundational components in literacy.
