These tools may seem simple, but they offer powerful opportunities for learning, creativity, and social-emotional growth.\r\nMr. Potato Head has become a favorite among our children. Through play, they practice fine motor skills as they attach and remove the pieces, and they learn about body awareness, emotions, and expressions by creating different faces. This open-ended activity encourages communication, cooperation, and problem-solving as children work together to design their Potato Head characters. It's also a wonderful tool for building vocabulary and supporting early social-emotional development.\r\nThe Light Table has added a new layer of discovery and exploration to our classroom. Children are naturally drawn to its glow and enjoy using it to explore shapes, letters, numbers, and colors in an engaging, hands-on way. It fosters curiosity, focus, and creativity as they experiment with transparency, shadow, and light. Beyond academics, the Light Table helps promote sensory play and encourages children to collaborate as they share ideas and materials.\r\nBoth of these resources have enriched our classroom environment by making learning more interactive, inclusive, and joyful. With your continued support, we are able to provide experiences that nurture each child's growth and spark a lifelong love of learning.\r\nThank you for your generosity and commitment to our program — it truly makes a difference in the lives of our students every day.","fullyFundedDate":1762266301730,"projectUrl":"project/some-fun-for-all/9865365/","projectTitle":"Some Fun for All","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Pag","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10066949"},{"teacherId":1017958,"projectId":9696523,"letterContent":"I want to sincerely thank you for your generosity and support in funding my Donors Choose project for decodable books. As a literacy specialist, I work each day with students who are learning to crack the code of reading — many of whom are English learners or struggling readers. Because of your kindness, they now have access to engaging, high-quality decodable books that match their learning needs and help them experience success and confidence as readers.\r\n\r\nEach time a student picks up one of these new books, I see the excitement in their eyes. They are proud to sound out words, notice patterns, and truly understand what they're reading. It is with tremendous gratitude and appreciation that I submit this impact letter to you for your generous donation of a new light table and translucent materials for our TK classroom. I am constantly seeking unique learning opportunities for my students. The addition of the light table provides that and more. My students absolutely love our free choice play and small group pre-academic center activities, which is the time they can explore, solve problems, work collaboratively, practice concepts previously taught, and simply have fun. Activities already implemented include: building with Magna-Tiles and other manipulatives which serves as an excellent complement to our Science Unit on Building Structures; tracing, writing and creating letters and words with translucent letters; tracing and writing numbers with translucent patterns; tracing and creating shapes with translucent 2d/3d shapes; and making patterns/sorting with various translucent manipulatives.\r\n\r\nYour donation has dramatically benefited my classroom, increasing student engagement and pro-social behaviors. My students' faces light up when they see that a new activity is waiting for them at the light table. Next, I plan to introduce translucent sensory sand in various colors to increase sensory exploration and engagement, tactile experiences, emersive play, fine motor development, imaginative play, and enhance learning across pre-academic subjects.
