My students range from standard psychology students to world history, African History, African American History honors, to AP Psychology. In my upper-level classes, I tend to teach non-traditional (upper-level students) who may need more support to achieve equity.
My students are of all different types of learning backgrounds and need many different types of support to be successful in their courses.
These students have a real growth mindset and desperately want to expand their knowledge to open doors for their future selves.
My Project
Electronics are super important in our society today, but are also becoming a hindrance when it comes to learning in the classroom.
Constant notifications interrupt a student's ability to concentrate during a class at an alarming rate.
My classes did an experiment on the 2nd day of school where they turned up the volume for their notifications and, whenever they received a notification, they had to mark it on the board. In one 50 minute class, we had over 100 notifications come through.
I would like to offer my students a safe place to store (and charge) their devices so that they can give their attention to what they are learning in class, not to what is going on outside of the class.
